Cardiff’s seagull population could be the largest in the world, an expert has warned. And that is despite increasing by only 3% per year, for the past five years. The annual growth of the population of urban gulls, those that nest in Cardiff and surrounding areas, has increased to 3,339 pairs in 2011 from 2,899 pairs in 2006, possibly making it the largest colony in Britain.
